Till March 2006 National Emission Centre was an independent section in  the Institute of Environmental Protection (IEP). NEC was  established in 2000 based on the agreement between  the Ministry of Environment, National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and IEP. NEC’s main task is to carry out national emission inventories. In March 2006 National Emission Centre was incorporated to newly created Polish National Administrator for Emission Trading Scheme section.

All emission data provided on these pages was approved by Polish Ministry of the Environment and Polish Central Statistical Office and was submitted to secretariat of United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change, Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution and other international statistical offices or programs.
